Centaurs and Canadians [FU2]

Fortnightly update 2: 23.12.2019 to 05.01.2020

While I’ve kept a crude text file diary for a few years now, I’m now going to summarise the happenings of my life in fortnightly blog posts like this one and share them to both Facebook and LinkedIn. This will allow me to be consistent with how I share my progress as a writer and editor, while also improving my reflection process. I’ll post the fortnightly updates on either Sundays or Mondays, though if anything dinosaur-huge happens, I may still make separate posts about it; these fortnightly posts are more about my fortnight-to-fortnight triumphs.

The Front

I write scripts for the popular YouTube channel The Front.

In the first week of the fortnight, we uploaded a video on Canadians and their savagery in World War II. This is the first video in which I was involved to reach 100,000 views, and it’s still climbing!

In the second week, we uploaded the third part in a six-part series about the worst casualties to military units in World War II.

On top of that, I wrote the script on “shady” brands and companies involved in World War II, a script on “unkillable” soldiers, and started another script on how World War II strengthened the Poles. I’ve also started to interact with the YouTube community through comments and will soon be managing related Facebook pages and Instagram accounts!

The Jerk’E’Club

I write the blog post series Tales of Two Jerks for The Jerk’E’Club.

This fortnight, I wrote Chapter 3 of Tales of Two Jerks, and the Jerk’E’Club posted it on Christmas day.

Project Bronze

I managed to get a little work done on the secret-ish D&D project I’m working on with Roderick Fernandes, who started producing some concept art for it in the last week. Here is a sneak peek into Project Bronze.

Fein’s Deluge

I haven’t touched my work if interactive fiction Fein’s Deluge in a while, though last week I worked with a friend to resolve some technical issues and bring the “game” up to scratch for a proper release.

This fortnight, I posted five fiction_shots pieces on both Instagram and Twitter. I also started writing pieces using #vss365 word prompts. It’s a great way to stay motivated, and I’m already starting to find my place in the community.

My first piece was about Christmas. Jolly.

The second was about change.

The third was about purpose.

The fourth was about growing up.

And the fifth was about digging an unfinished story out of the bottom drawer and finishing it.

Despite the chaos of the holiday season, I managed to get some good work done and hit all of my goals. It really comes down to discipline, and I have more of that than I have talent or brains.

Thanks for reading, and here’s to a fruitful year.
